FM Global has a great opportunity for an Adjuster position in our Chicago office. This role will involve investigating, negotiating, and settling large Property Damage and Business Interruption losses.
Formalized training, including classroom, office and field will be provided.
Approximately 10% travel can be expected.


This is a great opportunity for someone looking to further their career and join the FM Global team. This role allows for continued application of engineering skills while learning and applying our business and financial sides. The successful candidate will be trained to investigate, triage, mitigate and manage large commercial property claims. They will be empowered to resolve and settle all assigned claims within the policy’s insuring agreement for AFM and FM Global. Included in duties will be managing lawyers, experts and consultants from various technical areas including forensics, engineering and finance.
As experience develops this position also becomes integrated with the account team providing customized workshops, pre-loss preparation as well as policy and claims consulting.
Formalized training, including classroom, office and field based will be provided.


Knowledge of FM Global and AFM is definite benefit. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must. Being self-motivated, organized and a good planner are common traits of a successful candidate for this position. With the aid of experts, the job will require the technical analysis of complex loss situations and an ability to comprehend their impact to the financial and operational impact to the insured.
The person should be analytical, results driven and possess superior communication skills. The candidate should be well organized and have an ability to plan and prioritize. Knowledge of Excel and Word are also an advantage in this position.
Four year college degree in engineering or other related disciplines, or equivalent experience.
One year of experience within another FM Global business segment or equivalent external position.
