Job Description

Would you like to challenge your automation talents in an international company where you will be responsible for taking ownership of a specific project in our CrisBag system from A-Z.
Create the technology for our future product

The project is centered around two elements used in the CrisBag 6 product segment. CrisBag 6 is a system used in airports to transport the checked in baggage from check-in via storage to sortation point before being loaded in the airplane. CrisBag systems is designed by combining different kind of elements such as straight, curves, merge etc.
For the new generation of controls for CrisBag (CrisBag 6), some elements still need to be finalized or fine-tuned. Some of these elements are the merge and the divert.
The existing specifications needs to be reviewed and subsequently the code needs to be written based on the specifications. Finally the code can be tested on our test loop and fine-tuned until the system reach maturity for production sites.
Solution must be provided for S7-1500 and programmed in SCL. An existing framework for the CrisBag 6 system is in place, and the code needs to follow the specifications for this.
The motivation for the project, is to make sure all our element types are ready when needed.
Our expectations
We expect that you will manage the project from A-Z with support from our Team Managers. The project includes:
  • Clarifying the functions required by involving our CrisBag PLC programmers and systems department.
  • Providing the automation team with a functional and detailed design specification for approval
  • Presenting the final solution to our programmers and if possible program it.

You will have an Automation Engineer attached as mentor, but we expect a high degree of knowledge in acquiring and processing information regarding the technical solution.
You will weekly be asked to present project status to the Automation Team Managers, in order to ensure progress.
Gain valuable experience and create value
The end goal of your work with BEUMER Group will be a well-documented and tested solution that complies with the quality BEUMER Group is well-known for. We should be able to directly integrate the solution into our standard product portfolio for chute control, thereby reducing our engineering and commission efforts by at least 25%.
As an intern, you become part of our Automation Controls team within Logistics. Here, you join a team of creative and highly-skilled colleagues. You will be provided with a dedicated mentor, ensuring that you will have all the necessary tools and knowledge to get going, and who will be supporting you during the entire internship.

During the internship you will also be able to socialize with your fellow interns, where you can share your experiences and get to know each other.
You are currently studying automation technology, marine engineering or electrical engineering or similar and are available to start your internship in January/February 2021. The internship will last between 4 and 6 months – the exact duration will be arranged with your coming manager.
